Now is high time for an update!
Support for Windows 8.1 will end on January 10, 2023. Windows 8.1 will no longer receive updates after this date and is therefore exposed to security risks. Microsoft recommends upgrading to a supported operating system.
Also think about modern hardware
Most Windows 8.1 devices do not meet the hardware requirements to upgrade to Windows 11. Alternatively, compatible Windows 8.1 PCs can be upgraded to Windows 10. Before investing in a Windows 10 upgrade, keep in mind that Windows 10 will reach the end of support on October 14, 2025.
Office 2013 will reach end of support (on all versions of Windows) on April 11, 2023. After that date, support for Office 2013 will end and security updates will no longer be available. This may increase your organization’s exposure to security risks or impact compliance obligations.
Microsoft 365 apps will also no longer be supported on Windows 8.1 after this date. To avoid performance and reliability issues, it is recommended that you move to a newer version of Windows.
Non-subscription versions of Office, such as Office Home & Student, Office Home & Business, or Office Professional Plus, will continue to receive full support based on the established lifecycle policy.
To ensure the reliability and stability of Microsoft 365, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of the latest hardware features by moving to a new PC running Windows 11.
